Hannibal, Mo. – Tax exempt organizations providing human services in Lewis, Marion,
Monroe, Ralls, and Shelby Counties are invited to attend an Agency Meeting on
Wednesday, March 21st at 9am at the United Way Office in Hannibal.
Organizations interested in becoming a participating agency of the United Way can
attend this meeting to learn about the upcoming allocations process. The allocations
process results in local organizations receiving funding from the United Way. Each year
the United Way has a campaign to raise dollars from the community to invest in
agencies that work to better the community. Participating agencies chosen this spring
would receive funding from the United Way during November of 2018-October of 2019.
The application and funding forms for organizations will be made available at this
meeting. These forms will be due to the United Way office on Friday, April 13th by 4pm.
Agencies will have to attend an Allocation Hearing during late April/early May where
members of the United Way’s Allocation Committee can learn directly about the
organization, their financial management, and provided services.
Concluding these Allocation Hearings, the United Way’s Allocation Committee will
determine which local agencies to fund. It is anticipated that this will be determined and
announced during early May. For questions regarding this process please contact the
United Way Office at 573-221-2761.
The United Way of the Mark Twain Area works towards the mission, “to increase the capacity of
people to care for one another.” This is done by creating opportunities for individuals to give of
